Vegas or Bust! Long Shot Developments Gamble on Las Vegas.

Posted: August 26, 2019 by Tamara Foote

In our latest Real Estate Report video, Bob Hamrick discusses a few "long-shot" developments that have recently been announced. One development, BlueTech Park Properties boasts that it will be constructed out of "net-zero buildings, automated multi-functional designs, renewable energies, autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, Internet of Things, robotics, supertrees, and self-healing concrete structures." Blue Tech park says they will feature workforce housing, offices, retail space, ultra-luxury residential, hotel, and entertainment, introducing a new high-tech biome to the desert valley. Does all of this sound too good to be true? One blog, Vital Vegas seems to think so and wrote this satirical blog post listing all of the reasons why.

While we wish nothing but the best for this property, we wanted to share a few ways for you to take advantage of their futuristic ideas today!

Back in 2017, AAA partnered with french company Keolis to create the country's first-ever self-driving mass transportation option. The pilot program ended in October of 2018 but was a great hit. If you missed the
free shuttle from Downtown Container Park to the Arts District, don't worry, there is a new autonomous vehicle in town! The Aptiv company has been operating in Las Vegas for over a year. They are partnered with Lyft and offer rides up and down the Las Vegas Strip. Just like you are able to choose a Shared Lyft or Lyft Lux, you can now request a Self Driving vehicle.

It's fitting that Las Vegas would be the host to one of the first bars featuring robotics. The
Tipsy Robot is located in the Miracle Mile shops and is a great place for you to bring visiting friends. Patrons can order a limitless number of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink combinations right from their phone. They are then mixed by two robotic arms. Pretty cool we think!

Internet of Things or IOT is basically a smart-home device that can be connected to a wifi network and allows homeowners to control them from a singular device, usually a smartphone. There are many smart-home products available to you today including plugs and outlets, thermostats, doorbells, lightbulbs and more! Click here to read the top-rated products from 2019.
